Intake Coordinator (LPN) Unity Psychiatric Care – Bridgeport LLC Bridgeport, AL 35740 About Unity Psychiatric Care Unity Psychiatric Care, a division of Franklin, Tennessee-based American Health Partners Inc., operates psychiatric hospitals in Memphis, Clarksville, Columbia, and Martin, Tennessee, as well as in Huntsville and Bridgeport, Alabama. These hospitals specialize in treating geriatrics who are experiencing a mental health crisis or behavioral disturbances, including those caused by dementia. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Abides by and demonstrates the company Mission, Vision and Values through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis Receives, screens and processes all referral information Performs verification of benefits: Verify benefits Verify payment method and amount Obtain prior authorization to ensure that services are reimbursable prior to admission Assign appropriate payer category to be keyed by facility personnel Scan information back to requesting facility Ensure timely and accurate processing of all referrals/admissions to include notification from the social worker or discharge planner Responsible for communicating the review of resident specifics with CSR and the AHC facility Admissions coordinator to assure continuity of care Adheres to ethical business practices by striving to perform in a manner that conforms to the highest standards of ethical behavior, integrity and honesty Takes initiative and responsibility for decisions as an individual and as a company. Exhibits commitment to personal and companywide goals Maintains confidentiality of all resident related information Answers phones for resident information dissemination Encourages a positive environment and experience for co-workers Treats employees with respect and embraces diversity and demonstrates the ability to work together Promotes a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to agency policies and procedures Maintains proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner Communicates information effectively both verbally and in writing Participates in required in-services and other meetings as requested Organizes workload to complete responsibilities in an appropriate and timely manner Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Skills:

Communication skills and active listening Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask

Required Work Experience:

Three (3) years’ experience in a healthcare related environment preferred Exposure to healthcare marketing a plus

Licensing/Certification/Education Requirements:

State of Tennessee LPN License required – RN preferred. Current CPR certification or participate in training

Other Requirements:

Position may require unscheduled overtime, weekend, and afterhours work Must be willing and able to work flexible hours Travel required

Required Computer Software/Equipment Used:

Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word Ability to learn HRIS and/or scheduling systems/

EHR Standard Office Equipment Computer Physical Requirements:

Job will require frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling Work is typically performed in a standard office environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
