We’re currently seeking a sharp, detail-oriented, and experienced Intake Coordinator to join our team and support the essential first step in connecting patients to the care they need. About the Role As our Intake Coordinator, you will own the intake process for patients referred from partner facilities. You’ll verify insurance through payer portals (e.g., Palmetto, Availity) , accurately enter patient information into our EMR, manage intake documentation, and ensure each patient is properly placed on the provider schedule. You’re not just entering data—you’re the operational backbone of our clinical workflow. This role requires critical thinking, speed, and accuracy , especially when verifying insurance eligibility. Key Responsibilities Enter patient demographics and intake documents (face sheet, consent to treat) into the EMR Verify insurance coverage by logging into payer portals and confirming active eligibility (not just copying ID numbers) Secure prior authorizations when required Add patients to the correct provider’s schedule and update the shared patient spreadsheet accurately Communicate with referral sources, providers, and internal staff regarding intake status and next steps Track referral progress and flag any delays or incomplete data immediately Use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams to maintain referral logs and communicate with your team Maintain HIPAA compliance and ensure patient confidentiality at all times Suggest process improvements and identify workflow bottlenecks Perform other intake-related administrative duties as needed What We’re Looking For 2+ years of healthcare experience focused on intake or insurance verification Direct experience validating benefits and eligibility with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel , Microsoft Teams, and EMRs (Practice Fusion a plus) High attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes without cutting corners Strong communication and follow-through skills — you escalate issues, not hide them Someone who can work independently, solve problems on the fly, and stay three steps ahead A compassionate, patient-focused attitude — because behind every intake is a person who needs care Why Join Remedy?
