Full Job Description Position:
AUTHORIZATION AND INTAKE COORDINATOR
Position Summary:

Coordinator guides patients through the healthcare admissions process. Their duties include recording patient information, verifying health insurance and seeing the intake process from start to finish.

Qualifications:

1. Licensed LPN or higher preferred. 2. High School Diploma or GED. 3. Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with diverse people. 4. Detail Oriented. 5. Effective organizational and time management skills. 6. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 7. Understanding of health insurance, medical terminology, and home care. 8. Experience with EMR. 9. Experience obtaining Insurance Authorizations. 10. Experience with Insurance Verification. 11. Ability to use software programs. 12. Familiarity with BHP, CHN, commercial insurance and Sandata. 13. Ability to work independently as well as within a team. 14. Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 15. Problem solving skills 16. Bilingual a plus.

Essential Functions:

1. Fielding Calls from referring providers and patients. 2. Accepting or declining patient referrals. 3. Requesting additional documentation as needed. 4. Coordinating care with Clinicians and Scheduler. 5. Entering patient information into database. 6. Verifying insurance coverage related to the requested type of care. 7. Requesting Authorization from insurance companies. 8. Performing standard clerical work. 9. Other duties as assigned.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

1. Requires the ability to sit, stand, and change positions frequently. 2. Requires the ability to use a telephone, computer, and other business equipment on a frequent basis.

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$24.00 – $30.00 per hour
