Patient Services Rep, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, answering questions, scheduling appointments, and assisting with any concerns or issues that may arise. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong attention to detail. Previous experience in a customer service or healthcare setting is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a degree in a related field is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Educational requirement of high school graduate and 1-2 years (Certified Administrative Professional), or two-year associate degree and 1 year of experience in either clerical role or healthcare environment; or high school graduate or equivalent and two years of experience is required. Typing 45 WPM. Knowledge of Medical Terminology and abbreviations desired. Ability to use or operate computer, copy machine, and fax machine. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel preferred. Demonstrates ability to relate well to all customers. Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to adapt to a combination of walking, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting throughout the work day. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to work with computer monitor for prolonged periods of time. Ability to meet additional demands and lifting requirements as defined by the department.

COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT/SKILLS CHECKLIST

May assist with a variety of clerical duties to include: data entry, creation and maintaining of databases or spreadsheets: printing, sorting, and organizing paperwork; requesting of materials, checks, or information; logging receipts; placing calls to assist with coordination of department activities; mail pickup and dating mail received. Collect deductibles, co-payments and deposits from appropriate patients. Perform insurance verifications. Ensure insurance pre-certifications are completed on necessary accounts. Assist patients and family members with TOS Collections and financial options. Performs operational support and other duties as assigned.
