This is a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for patient care and a strong background in insurance verification and referral coordination. The Referral Coordinator will be responsible for managing both inbound and outbound referrals, verifying insurance coverage, and facilitating smooth transitions of care by connecting patients with appropriate physicians or specialists. This role may also include scheduling patient appointments and supporting various administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet, direct, and assist patients and visitors in-person or via telecommunication. Serve as a liaison and expert for patients and the practice in referral coordination and scheduling. Maintain patient flow by coordinating referrals and appointments efficiently. Accurately collect, document, and retrieve data using both electronic and paper systems. Perform insurance verification, registration processes, copayment collection, authorizations, and referral inquiries. Assist in maintaining organized medical records and filing systems. Provide general clerical and secretarial support; interface with multiple departments as needed.
