Pediatric Medical Referral Specialist Position Available In Duval, Florida

We are currently seeking a dedicated Referral Coordinator to join our team and help ensure seamless access to specialty care for our young patients.

Job Summary:

The Referral Coordinator plays a key role in managing patient referrals to specialists, imaging centers, and other healthcare services. This individual will work closely with physicians, families, and external providers to ensure timely and accurate coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and track incoming and outgoing referrals accurately and in a timely manner Coordinate with primary care providers, specialists, and insurance companies as needed Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients and families regarding the referral process, including appointment scheduling and insurance requirements Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted appropriately Follow up on outstanding referrals to confirm appointments and receipt of reports Maintain detailed and organized records within the electronic health record (EHR) system Support front desk and clinical teams as needed to enhance overall patient care

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred); Knowledge of medical coding, including CPT and

ICD-9/ICD-10

Proficient in medical terminology and medical records management 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably pediatrics Familiarity with insurance authorization and verification processes and medical terminology Proficiency in EHR systems (experience with Office Practicum is a plus) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, child-friendly environment Understanding of HIPAA regulations

$16.00 – $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
