coding Full Job Description Prioritizes referrals according to level of urgency, schedules patient appointments as necessary and communicates referral information to patients. Assembles information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs. Ensures complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic, current insurance information, and referral/authorization. Responsible for assuring that all pertinent documentation and appropriate clinical information is provided to specialist per referral guidelines as needed. Contacts review organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met. Presents necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis and prognosis. Performs some Eligibility and Benefit verification. Understanding of
