These duties include on-going monitoring of departmental systems, auditing the work of the Credentialing Coordinators, creating and maintaining a tracking system for audits. This also includes interacting with Medical Staff leadership, providing consultative expertise and guidance. To facilitate and ensure timely and accurate documentation of proceedings at assigned and delegated committee meetings related to credentialing to achieve action-oriented outcomes and compliance with internal and external standards. Assumes accountability for facilitating functions of the organized medical staff as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, including oversight of the development of accurate and timely credentialing meeting agendas. Provides technical and administrative support to the Medical Staff. Assists in assigning work to the professional staff in administering all aspects of the medical staff credentialing and privileging and assists in the evaluation of the team’s quality metrics. Serves as support for training team members. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Qualifications Associates degree with five (5) years of experience OR Bachelors degree with three (3) years of experience preferred. Current Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) with the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) required within one (1) year of being eligible to sit for the exam. Familiarity with medical staff legal issues. Ability to lead and work with a team with different personalities and to maintain emotional stability and calm disposition with the ability to relate positively to all levels of professionals.
