M-F, 8:0 0 am-4:30pm, No on call or weekends.

Cancer Institute at 4000 Waterman Way, Tavares, FL 32778 The role you’ll contribute: The Oncology Office Coordinator is responsible for planning, controlling, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operations and activities of the oncology front office. The value you’ll bring to the team: Has primary responsibility for answering the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner, following established policies and procedures, identifying self. If appropriate, transfers call in a courteous and professional manner. Schedules, cancels, reschedules, etc., appointments per patient and physician request. Create/Complete process for appointment authorization in EMR. Is responsible for check-in and check-out of patients. Confirms, adds, deletes, or makes any changes patient’s insurance and/or personal information in Scheduling Software and EMR to ensure accuracy. Verifies authorization for all office visits and sets appoint authorization status in EMR. Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc. Medical Terminology

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Associates degree required, or equivalent related experience. Two years’ experience in a physician practice, healthcare, or hospital-based office. Must have knowledge of TJC requirements and local, state, and federal regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Bachelor of Business Administration or healthcare related field preferred Two years’ experience in a lead role in a medical setting or physician office manager. Experience in management of multiple practices or specialty practices desirable.
