Position Responsibilities:
Answers telephone promptly; preferably by the third ring
Ensure calls are identified and properly categorized in order to forward to appropriate area within office timely and efficiently
Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette when receiving, transferring, and placing calls on hold
Hold times are to be kept to a minimum
Repeats key information when writing down messages to ensure accuracy
Accurately enters patient demographics information and insurance data in the computer as documented
Verifies insurance information, collect referrals and authorizations, and/or other forms as documented
Efficiently schedules appointments, recording them as documented and following practice policy
Ensures that authorizations are obtained prior to scheduling procedures/testingConsistently demonstrates a clear understanding of departmental needs and job functions as assigned by department Manager and/or immediate supervisor
Demonstrates flexibility as well as ability to perform multiple functions within the practice to increase departmental efficiency
Notify supervisor of any problems pertaining to processing the patients for upcoming testing/procedures
Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to communicate with other offices in an effort to accurately and efficiently schedule testing/procedures
Qualifications:
School Diploma or equivalent.
Fluent in English/Spanish
