Company with great benefits including paid time-off, holidays and bonus. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Medical Office is required for this position. The Outside Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the referral process for patients with precision, detail and accuracy. This position operates in a dynamic and professional environment to ensure the highest level of quality healthcare is delivered to our members. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for scheduling initial and follow up external specialist visits as ordered by patient’s primary care physician. Utilize a high degree of accuracy in obtaining and verifying that all registration data, demographic and insurance information is correct and up to date. Follow procedures for proper authorization and processing of all referral services Support physicians and patients in synchronizing appointments, authorizations and tests taking place in different clinics. Maintain list of all preferred specialists and ancillary providers for the assigned areas. Schedule and pre-register patients for exams/procedures with specialists/providers outside of the primary care physician’s office. Coordinate transportation service if required by patient. Gather and communicate all relative information and preparation instructions to patient and referring providers. Contact patients to ensure follow-through with referrals. Ensure patient’s external missed appointment are rescheduled and communicated to the physician. Track all Home Health and DME orders to ensure patient receives services ordered.
