Key Responsibilities:
Monitor operational areas affecting admissions, report findings to administration and corporate teams, and assist in developing solutions. Support marketing efforts by attending events and outreach functions to promote the facility’s positive image and increase referral volume. Explain visitor and guest privileges, restrictions, and resident care procedures clearly and professionally. Coordinate admissions logistics with hospitals, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place. Build and maintain strong relationships with local hospitals, physicians, and community organizations to generate consistent admissions and uphold the facility’s reputation. Verify patient financial information accurately before admission and communicate details to the interdisciplinary team. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care reimbursement processes, and insurance plans. Prepare and report monthly admissions statistics to your team.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 year experience in Admissions within a Skilled Nursing Facility. Strong knowledge of Medicare requirements, PDPM, HMO rules, RUGS II & III, and Medicare prescription plans. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Understanding of CMS guidelines, DOH regulations, and insurance plan nuances. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
