The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient referrals, ensuring seamless communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Responsibilities Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for referred services. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process referral requests and follow up with patients regarding their appointments. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies to facilitate the referral process. Utilize medical coding knowledge (ICD-10) to ensure proper documentation of referrals. Assist in resolving any issues related to referrals or insurance verification. Stay updated on managed care policies and procedures to provide accurate information. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or dental office setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
