Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our gastroenterology clinic. This role is responsible for delivering a welcoming, professional, and efficient check-in experience. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, updating patient records, and managing incoming calls. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients courteously and efficiently Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details Collect co-pays and provide accurate receipts Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; medical office experience is strongly preferred Prior experience in a gastroenterology setting is preferred Bilingual in Spanish is preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general office software Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
