Pre-Admission Testing Nurse Kennedy-White Surgery Center 2851 Height Street, Sarasota, FL 34240 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse – Pre-Admissions to join our out-patient Orthopedic/Spine surgical team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough patient phone assessments, gathering all information needed for surgery, including insurance information, demographics, history and physicals, medications lists, consents, and surgeons orders .Your expertise in medications and orthopedic surgeries will be essential in providing optimal care to our patients. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine health status and care needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop preop testing or postop equipment needed such as braces, immobilizers, ice machines, etc. Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Educate patients and families on health management preoperatively. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information in medical records. Assist in other areas of the surgery center when needed. Qualifications Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Florida. Proven experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred. Strong skills in patient assessment, medications, phone etiquette and communication is required. Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and orthopedic procedures is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
