The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patient insurance information is accurate and up-to-date, facilitating a smooth billing process. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding practices, and insurance verification processes. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits Communicate with insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies regarding patient information confidentiality. Experience in Substance Abuse or Mental Health is a plus! Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, including familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems. Experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred Proficient in understanding the importance of accuracy in documentation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with insurance representatives.
