Position Purpose:
At Mercy Care Atlanta, we’re seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Access Center Representative to serve as the front-line contact for patients accessing our medical and dental services. This role is vital to ensuring smooth scheduling, registration, and insurance verification for all patient appointments.
What You Will Do:
Schedule medical and dental appointments for new and existing patients Collect and input demographic and insurance information accurately Verify program eligibility and insurance coverage (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) Confirm appointment reasons and route patients appropriately Make pre-appointment reminder calls and assist with referral scheduling Collaborate with clinical staff and volunteer physicians to maintain efficient scheduling templates Provide age-appropriate support for a wide range of patients from infants to seniors Deliver service in both
English and Spanish Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Certification in medical insurance, patient scheduling, or medical office procedures preferred At least one year of experience in customer service or patient relations Experience in a healthcare setting with automated scheduling systems Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency required Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT coding, HIPAA/OSHA compliance, and office software
