Description
The Admissions Coordinator facilitates a timely, accurate and otherwise effective referral intake as outlined in the admissions workflow process.
The admissions coordinator provides analytical insight into the admissions data and referral patterns for effective and sustained business development.
Coordinates activities with other departments as needed and participates in other related organizational activities.
Their job duties include the pull through process oversight, maintain 0% deficiencies, process timely insurance verification, assists with pre certification and authorizations and maintains an admission focus.
The successful admission coordinator completes data files in a timely manner, ensures timely admissions from time of referral, works with the team to resolve occasional challenges, and overcomes obstacles.
They will provide appropriate documents to team members timely, accurately complete documentation and any needed data entry/scanning etc..
The admission coordinator is an excellent communicator.
They provide timely communications with the referring provider/hospital and the hospital team members.
They can provide hospital tours, promote excellent customer service, and accurately answer questions about rehabilitation for the internal and external customers.
An admission coordinator maintains close contact with the nursing team, admitting team and bed availability team as a part of a smooth transition to the rehabilitation hospital.

Qualifications:

Two years experience performing a broad range of duties with an Admissions or Pre-Admissions Department
High School diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree and or applicable medical certifications preferred. Previous experience within a physical rehabilitation setting preferred Knowledge of Medical terminology and insurance verification preferred Experience working with Excel and databases
