Fully Remote Position Overview:
We are seeking a Credentialing Coordinator with direct hospital credentialing experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners are fully credentialed and qualified to work in accordance with legal, regulatory, and insurance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the credentialing process for healthcare providers, including initial credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging. Collect, review, and verify required documentation, such as state licenses, DEA certificates, education and training records, board certifications, and work history. Maintain accurate, up-to-date provider credentialing files and databases. Communicate regularly with providers, hospital medical staff offices, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of credentialing processes. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards (e.g., The Joint Commission), and payer requirements. Assist with audits, reports, and special credentialing projects as needed.
Requirements:
Direct hospital credentialing experience is required. Experience working in a hospital medical staff office is highly preferred. Knowledge of federal and state credentialing requirements and standards. Familiarity with credentialing processes in a locum tenens or staffing agency environment is a strong plus. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
