Patient Services Coordinator Acadian Vision Associates 225 North College Road, Lafayette, LA 70506 Fast-paced optometric practice is seeking a mature, dependable individual who is looking for a career in patient management in the optical field.

Job Description:

Effectively address the needs of patients with strong interpersonal communication skills related to patient care Schedule patients in an effective and efficient timeframe Greet patients as they arrive in a pleasant and timely fashion Secure patient insurance information and verify benefits prior to the patient’s appointment Prepare patient charts, print patient correspondence Enter patient information in the computer during the exam or visit Pre-appoint patients as instructed by the doctor Print insurance claims and/or superbills Explain all charges to the patient regarding what they owe and what may be expected from insurance Assist patients with eyeglass frame and lens selection. This includes measuring and fitting of frames as well as repairs and adjustments as needed Train patients to insert and remove contact lenses Assist in keeping the office clean and orderly Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Pleasant & courteous to patients and co-workers. Have strong interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and patients. Positive attitude toward the goal & mission of the practice. Strong telephone technique. Retail experience very helpful in the function of assisting patients with frame and lens selection. Multi-tasking is key for this position. Strong telephone skills and the ability to successfully exceed patient expectations are crucial. Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume work environment. Be highly motivated, manage time productively & work without direct supervision. Computer knowledge and/or office experience is necessary due to the volume of work and responsibility required. Proficient in Microsoft programs. Experience is preferred but not required. Ability to speak Spanish would be a plus but not required. Training available. Starting Salary $15-17/hr (Depending On Experience)
