This position involves managing patient interactions, verifying insurance information, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset, making them an essential part of our healthcare team. Duties Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process. Verify patient insurance information, including Medicare and other coverage details. Accurately input patient data into electronic health records and maintain confidentiality. Provide information regarding care plans and services offered by the facility. Answer phone calls promptly, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while addressing patient inquiries. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared for patient appointments. Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up visits as needed. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, including ICD-9 codes and dental terminology, to facilitate effective communication with patients and staff. Qualifications Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally. Proficient in computerized systems for data entry and record management. Familiarity with hospital operations and patient access processes. Knowledge of care plans and insurance verification procedures is an asset. Excellent verbal communication skills, with a focus on phone etiquette. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
