Job Description

The Medical Staff Office (MSO) at InterMed provides ongoing support and oversight for all aspects of physician peer review, payor enrollment, credentialing, privileging, and annual reviews for a multi-specialty group of medical providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. MSO Specialists work collaboratively to manage the full lifecycle of these processes, with each team member specializing in a specific area while maintaining the ability to cross-cover and support others as needed.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicates clearly with providers and their liaisons, medical staff leadership and administration as needed to provide timely responses upon request on day-to-day issues as they Prepares, issues, electronically tracks and follows-up on appropriate

OPPE, FPPE

& Annual reviews for efficient, high-volume processing of review standards, established procedural guidelines, and strict timelines. Supports InterMed’s ASC and General Medical Staff to assure completion of all payor enrollment, credentialing and privileging related requirements, for medical staff appointments necessary for maintaining clinical privileges, as outlined in InterMed’s Medical Staff Participates in the development and implementation of process improvements for the system-wide credentialing and privileging Prepares reports required by regulatory and accrediting agencies, policies, and standards. Utilizes CredentialStream to assign privileges and reviews Uses CredentialStream to track expirable metrics and follows up with CVO and/or medical staff to ensure timely renewal to prevent lapses in licenses, certification, education and board CME (Continuing Medical Education) requirements. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring files to ensure completeness and accuracy; reviews all file documentation for compliance with quality standards, accreditation requirements when applicable, and all other relevant policies; prepares and provides information to internal and external customers as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining an accurate shared master file to include all credentialing and privileging information for all medical staff at InterMed as well as individual folders with appropriate documentation for all classes of medical staff. Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines and InterMed policies.
