We are diligent inobtaining complete and accurate insurance and demographicinformation in a timely manner, this enables us to provide highquality, compassionate health care service to all who need them,regardless of their ability to pay. This position is full-time (40hours / week, 7 days / week). Employees are required to haveflexibility to work any of our variable schedule that can includedays, evenings or weekends supporting our operations in ouroutpatient registration team and emergency room. It may benecessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Shifts can be scheduled from hours between 6AM

  • 12AM. Our officeis located at 50 Union Street, Ellsworth, ME. We offer 4
  • 6 weeksof paid on-the-job training.

The hours of training will be alignedwith your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Greets visitors andpatients in person, or communicates by telephone, or upholdingexcellent customer service
  • Enters and updates patient demographicand financial information, ensuring the patient is fully registeredas early in the process as possible
  • Obtains appropriateapplications and forms, confirming signatures are on file.

Photocopies / scans documents as needed

  • Provides patients withfinancial responsibility information and collects patientliabilities, documents amounts in the appropriate fields, andbalances the cash box daily
  • Works with partnering departments(Financial Counseling, Scheduling, Financial Clearance, andclinical areas) to ensure all aspects of the patient’s encounterare completed as needed
  • Provides wayfinding instructions andassists with hospital information as requested
  • Coordinatespatient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards whereapplicable
  • Meets or exceeds audit accuracy standards. Worksworklists and error reports timely, and proactively seeksassistance to resolve as needed
  • Maintains a safe environmentcomplying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directlyaddresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safetypolicy and / or protocol when involved or observed

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher
  • 6 months of experience in an office setting, customer servicesetting (over the phone or face to face), phone support role orcall center environment
  • Intermediate level of proficiency withWindows applications
  • Ability to work a minimum of 24 hours perweek, between the hours of 6:00am
  • 12:00am
  • Ability to workovertime as needed
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Influenzavaccination for the current flu season (typically August-May) orcommitment to receive the influenza vaccination when available forthe upcoming flu season
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 years ofregistration experience in a hospital OR medical setting
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge ofinsurance policies and procedures and patient care settings

The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85per hour based on full-time employment.
