oEligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Patient Service Representative position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
oCurrent MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
Summary:
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) – Orthopedics role will greet patients, answer telephones, schedule appointments, and perform other overall general office duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Greets all patients in polite, prompt and helpful manner.
Schedules, reschedules, confirm and cancel patient appointments.
Updates all patient demographic and insurance information at the time of check-in and provides necessary forms for completion.
Answers phone in pleasant manner and assists callers directly when possible.
Screens calls, documents detailed messages and escalates to the appropriate individual in a timely manner.
Collect co pays/patient due balances, reviews encounter forms for completeness and accuracy, obtains patient signatures, and schedules follow-up appointments when indicated.
Helps patients activate/navigate patient portal.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
License/Certifications:
Driver’s license may be required.
Experience:
Experience in a medical office and customer service preferred.
