Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Chief Dental Officer, the Dental Patient Registrar performs those duties necessary to prepare patients administratively for a dental visit. The Dental Patient Registrar is responsible for the accuracy and completion of patient accounts based on MNHC departmental protocols, policies and procedures, and compliance with regulatory agencies, to include registration functions and ensuring all insurance requirements are met prior to patient’s checkout, and fees collected prior to treatment. RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: (other duties may be assigned) Greet patients, check in scheduled patients: Ensure all Health history is updated, insurance or discount information is accurate and up to date (current for 12 month from approval). Scan any necessary paperwork into Dentrix (Dental Application). Check in patients into the practice management system (Dentrix and Intergy), selecting the correct provider’s name. Obtain an image of the patient if needed. Address emergency patients. Follow outline protocol as related to same day walk-ins. (Consult with Clinical Staff if Triage is needed for medical implications). Set up new accounts by entering patient data, including demographic and financial, into Dental application and Intergy. Obtain Usernames and Passwords for all in network commercial insurances, managed care dental plans, Medicare dental plans, and Medicaid. Analyze insurance coverage and benefits for service to ensure timely reimbursement by verification of benefits and obtain prior authorizations when required.
