The position is responsible for handling all aspects of pre-registration and registration of inpatient and outpatient services. This includes collecting and verifying demographic, billing, and clinical information; obtaining accurate physician orders; assisting with insurance authorizations; and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Patient Registration Specialist:
Obtain and verify complete and accurate demographic, billing, and clinical information for patient records. Enter patient data into the registration system accurately and in a timely manner. Distribute and explain registration forms, insurance documents, and educational materials to patients and/or caregivers. Communicate with physicians’ offices, nursing units, and other departments to facilitate smooth patient admissions and placements. Conduct patient interviews to gather information relevant to admission, hospitalization, and discharge. Retrieve or request medical records and verify current data with patients/families, updating files as needed. Secure required medical documentation for insurance or third-party authorization. Perform audits of patient records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies. Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies in records and documentation. Requirements of the

Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Skills:
