EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 120 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part-time Mental Health Intake Specialist to join the Nassau Child Advocacy Center.

Wage:

$20 to $24 per hour

Schedule:

Up to 21 hours (Flexible 9am to 5pm

Reports To:

Director of Mental Health Services The Mental Health Intake Specialist supports the delivery of clinical services by coordinating the intake process, scheduling appointments, collecting required documentation, verifying insurance coverage, and assisting with case coordination for the mental health program at the Child Advocacy Center (CAC). What You’ll Be Doing + Conduct initial intake screenings with children and caregivers to gather clinical and administrative information. + Schedule clinical assessments, therapy appointments, and follow-up sessions in coordination with clinical staff. + Collect and verify insurance information, obtain authorizations, and confirm financial eligibility if required. + Secure signed consents and required documentation prior to initiation of services. + Facilitate referrals to appropriate internal programs or external community resources + Maintain timely and accurate data entry in clinical and agency databases. + Support clinical case coordination by communicating appointment schedules and updates to clinicians. + Serve as a liaison between clients, clinicians, and community service providers + Maintain confidentiality of all clinical and client information. + Assist with filing, document management, and preparation of client records. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Mental Health Services.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:

+ Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in human services, healthcare administration, or related field preferred. + Prior experience in healthcare or mental health intake, registration, or administrative support preferred. + Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. + Strong data entry and electronic health record system proficiency. + Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion. + Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. + Valid NYS driver’s license and access to automobile required.
