Administrative Front Desk Representative Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York 317 East 34th Street, New York, NY 10016 Join a fast growing, dynamic organization that focuses on providing dermatology professionals business management services that allow them to offer patients an exceptional healthcare experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following. Providing exceptional patient care in accordance with this position. Greet patients with a smile in a professional and engaging manner upon arrival, check them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data. Scheduling appointments as needed in accordance with provider schedule. Scanning, updating, and filing medical records. Informing necessary office personnel including practice manager/MD of patient arrival, waiting room wait times, patient flow, and communicating with patients accordingly. Perform registration procedures (check-in process) including but not limited to: entering/correcting/updating patient demographic, by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information and updating the account in system in a timely and accurate manner. Processing medical insurance information, verifying patient eligibility, and addressing any patient questions about insurance (consult with Billing department as appropriate). Performs insurance authorizations as needed for all services as needed. Perform check out as needed, by updating the patient’s chart with charges and collection of all out-of-pocket expenses as needed. Providing patients with guidance regarding treatment costs and payment options. Schedule of follow up appointments as needed. Answering phone calls in a prompt and polite manner. Directing these calls to appropriate office members as needed. Responding to any voicemail messages as needed. Verify patient insurance information. Assisting patients with completion of paperwork when necessary. Scheduling appointment as needed in accordance with provider schedule. This includes all services provided within the practice as well as Mohs and leg vein procedures. Providing coverage for each area as needed for planned/unplanned PTO. Knowledge and adherence for financial, administrative policies and procedures. Follow office rules and regulations when it comes to visiting pharmaceutical representatives. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy workplace environment by following standards and procedures. Complies with legal regulation. Providing outstanding customer service to every patient. Always maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. Assisting other practice team members as needed. Attending all in-house training and continued education opportunities. Performing other duties as assigned by management team/and or physicians as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (GED). Two years medical office experience preferred. Ability to interpret insurance plans for coverage and to identify co-pays/co-insurance. Positive, welcoming, and can-do attitude with patients and other practice team members. Experience working in a high-volume/high-intensity customer service industry. Ability to identify and manage multiple priorities at once. Detail-oriented and collaborator. Computer proficiency. Flexible/adaptable nature and able to work in a fast pace and continuously evolving environment. Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment. Ability to effectively interact with providers, patients, and other staff members. Dermatology experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position will require long shifts, weekend (will depend on schedule necessary at facility), closing, and opening shifts. Must work on-site. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and stand for periods of time. Heavy computer use required. This role may require from time to time lifting heavy objects on a regular basis, doing repetitive tasks with few breaks, and requiring light cleaning.
