This is a full-time 40-hour/week position. You will work during thehours of M-F 8:00AM

  • 4:30PM.

You will be supporting allfour of our locations as needed:

  • 1 Norton Ave, Oneonta, NY 13820(Fox Hospital Oneonta)
  • 43 Pearl Street, Sydney, NY 13838 (FoxHospital Tri-Town Campus)
  • 1 Foxcare Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820(FoxCare Center)
  • 1 Associate Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820 (ConvenientCare) We offer 4-6 weeks of on-the-job training.

The hours of thetraining will be based on schedule or will be discussed on yourfirst day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsiblefor new staff training and act as a resource for new staffquestions/concerns
  • Responsible for working an on-call rotationand may be required to work in multiple different areas dependenton business needs
  • Monitors work queues and completes tasks asthey come through
  • Communicates directly with patients and / orfamilies either in person or on the phone to complete theregistration process by collecting patient demographics, healthinformation, and verifying insurance eligibility / benefits
  • Utilizes computer systems to enter access or verify patient data inreal
  • time ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
  • Gathers necessary clinical information and processes referrals,pre-certification, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizes accordingto insurance plan requirements
  • Verifies insurance coverage,benefits, and creates price estimates, reverifications as needed
  • Collects patient co-pays as appropriate and conducts conversationswith patients on their out-of-pocket financial obligations
  • Identifies outstanding balances from patient’s previous visits andattempts to collect any amount due
  • Responsible for collectingdata directly from patients and referring to provider offices toconfirm and create scheduled appointments for patient servicesprior to hospital discharge
  • Responds to patient and caregivers’inquiries related to routine and sensitive topics always in acompassionate and respectful manner
  • Generates, reviews, andanalyzes patient data reports and follows up on issues andinconsistencies as necessary
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge ofspecific registration requirements for all areas, including but notlimited to: Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration,Maternity, and Rehabilitation units

RequiredQualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2 years ofPatient Registration experience
  • Ability to work onsite at all 4Fox Hospital facilities in Oneonta and Sydney, NY
  • Must be 18years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years ofpatient registration experience
  • 1 years of experience inscheduling and authorizations
  • Healthcare experience and clinicalknowledge
  • Ability to work overtime

  • Ability toengage and effectively communicate with individuals and groups ofadults at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to buildrapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, andrepresent CRH positively in internal and external meetings

Physicaland Work Environment:
  • Standing for long periods of time (10hours) while using a workstation on wheels and phone/headset

The sign-on bonus is only available to external candidates.

The salary range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22per hour based on full-time employment.
