Patient Services Worker – Greenwood Leflore Hospital Position Available In Greenwood, South Carolina

Job Description Patient Services Workers are responsible for a variety ofspecialized duties related to the receipt, interpretation, andfollow-through of patient diet orders in hospital and long-termcare settings. Acts as a liaison between the patient, the Food andNutrition Services Department, and Nursing Services. Job Responsibilities

• Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service. Deliversnourishments and/or snacks to patients as ordered byphysician/dietitian in a timely manner. Visits patients tointroduce the services of the Food and Nutrition ServicesDepartment.
• May obtain food preferences/dislikes from patients and/or familymembers.
• Communicate all patient food needs to the appropriate area of theFood and Nutrition Services Department.
• Ensures that nutrition diet care orders are provided to thepatient by offering appropriate menu selections.
• Maintains and adheres to all sanitation standards by followingassigned cleaning schedules. Completes other sanitation tasks asassigned by the Supervisor/Relief Supervisor.
• Inventories and re-stocks pantries, refrigerator, and freezers onassigned unit(s).
• Maintains temperature logs for unit refrigerators andfreezers.
• Understands therapeutic diets using established protocols andseeks assistance from Supervisor or Dietitian if an error isobserved.
• Assists the clinical staff in ensuring all patients’ basicnutrition care needs are met. • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Bilingualabilities preferred, but not required. This role may have physical demands including but not limited tolifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended standing orwalking. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage ofPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE).
