Job Summary The Manager, Admissions is responsible for overseeing the registration department and managing patient accounts at the point of service, ensuring accurate patient information, insurance verification, and financial collections. This role ensures that admission policies and procedures align with organizational, regulatory, and financial requirements while leading efforts to improve efficiency, patient experience, and compliance. The Manager, Admissions provides guidance and training to staff, oversees quality assurance initiatives, and serves as the primary liaison for admissions-related communication across departments. Essential Functions Manages the daily operations of the registration department, ensuring accurate patient data entry, insurance verification, and financial class assignment. Develops, implements, and maintains education and training programs to ensure staff competence in admissions policies, registration processes, and compliance standards. Monitors and evaluates department performance, incorporating quality improvement and patient satisfaction data into operational goals. Oversees staffing, scheduling, and productivity management, ensuring adequate coverage to meet patient volume demands. Interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development. Ensures compliance with hospital policies, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and other regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards in patient registration and financial clearance. Collaborates with other departments (e.g., finance, case management, patient access) to resolve issues related to patient registration, insurance eligibility, and admissions workflows. Oversees point-of-service collections, ensuring adherence to financial policies and improving revenue cycle performance. Communicates effectively with patients and families regarding admissions procedures, financial obligations, and documentation requirements, ensuring a seamless experience. Utilizes and optimizes hospital information systems and registration technology, ensuring efficient workflows, reporting accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and financial guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required or A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree 4-6 years of progressive experience in patient access, admissions, registration, or revenue cycle operations within a healthcare setting required 2-4 years in a leadership or supervisory role overseeing staff, workflows, and compliance in a hospital or healthcare facility required Experience managing front-end patient financial services, pre-registration teams, or revenue cycle processes, with direct involvement in process improvement, staff development, and regulatory compliance preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in staff training and performance evaluation. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a focus on patient experience and cross-department collaboration. Customer service-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage patient inquiries, concerns, and financial discussions professionally. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance processes, and admissions procedures. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment. Proficiency in hospital registration systems, medical terminology, and coding (preferred). High attention to detail and accuracy in patient information handling and financial recordkeeping. Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively, ensuring a smooth admissions process. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize department objectives and meet deadlines.
