POSITION SUMMARY
To perform cardiopulmonary and neurological diagnostic studies andprovide pulmonary therapeutic modalities for assigned inpatientsand outpatients at Williamson Health.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education /
Training:
Earned a Cardio Respiratory Care diploma or degree from acollege or university; RRT only. Registered/Certified by the NBRC or 1 year of Respiratory Careexperience. Tennessee State license with ABG endorsed.
NRP, PALS, ACLS
certified within 6 months of hire. BLS within 90 days of hire.

Network Computer System; Blood Gas Machine; Pulse Oximetry; IPPBMachine; Adult, Pediatric, & Infant Ventilators; EKG Machine;Holter Monitor; CPAP/BiPAP; PFT Machines; Bronchoscope; InfantIntubation; Meditech OE System.
Physical Environment:
Office and all areas pertinent to Respiratory Therapy.
Physical Effort:
Communicates in English both verbally and in writing. Able to stand and walk for up to twelve hours a day. Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Performs a comprehensive assessment on all patients utilizingskills of observation, communication and examination; includingdata from patient, family and other members of healthcare team Plans for the patient’s care on an individual basis,identifying problems/needs, standards of care/practice,interventions consistent with identified problems and attainableoutcomes Safely administers and documents medications and patient’sresponse to medications according to established procedures asevidenced by lack of errors or patterns. Reports abnormal findingsor critical values according to established policy Reassess patient’s condition, evaluates response, communicatesas necessary to the care team, recommends alternate interventionsfor respiratory care to Provider, documents accurately and timely,and modifies plan of care accordingly. Plans for patient teaching, discharge and post discharge needsas appropriate for the patient population, and delivers educationto patients and family as appropriate. Functions independently with treatments, procedures andequipment appropriate to areas evidence by adherence to policy,procedure and competency based assessment with no pattern or trendof problem. Maintains healing and therapeutic environment for the patientand family Monitors and maintains equipment and supplies. Verifiesequipment is working properly and supply stock is appropriate. Initiate and maintain adjunct airways/Edited orders documentedwith correct changes Facilitates staff development – including assist withorientation and training of respiratory personnel and acceptscharge responsibilities and assigns staff with consideration ofpatient condition and care requirement. Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications anddepartmental educational programs and in-services Maintains position specific qualifications
