JobSummary This Registered Respiratory Therapist will be a FloatingRespiratory Therapist to rotate between HHC Acute Care facilitiesfor prescheduled time blocks. Performs as a clinically competentpractitioner of respiratory care. Provides respiratory care topatients with minimal guidance. Performs the therapy, management,rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients withdeficiencies and abnormalities which affect the cardiopulmonarysystem and associated aspects of other system functions.
Administers respiratory therapy to include administering oxygen andother medical gases, aerosolized medications, positive pressurebreathing devices, ventilators, resuscitation devices, etc.
Performs pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments. Uses anunderstanding of the principles of growth and development to assesseach patient’s individual age specific needs and to provideindividualized age specific treatments and care. Demonstratesefficiency across clinical/critical care settings to providequality service to patient care units through communication,cooperation and collaboration with heath care team. Participates inadditional training and/or certification courses to developexpertise and skills to become certified to work in specializedclinical areas.
Qualifications Qualifications:
- Associates Degreefrom an AMA approved Respiratory program required.
- Bachelor’sDegree from an AMA approved Respiratory program preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Respiratory Practitioner required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) granted by The NationalBoard for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Valid State of ConnecticutRespiratory Care Practitioner License
