Responsible for thepulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically illadult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of aphysician with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessmentsand institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technicaland diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of thehospital.

• Include, but are not limited to:
• Emergency(Code Blue and White) response;
• Airway management includingnasotracheal & endotracheal suctioning;
• Delivery of aerosolizeddrugs;
• Ventilator management (i.e. setup and operation);
• Oralhygiene;
• Airway retaining device placement and maintenance;
• Airway support device management including BiPAP and CPAP devices
• Oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring;
• Chest filmanalysis;
• Bloodgas collection and analysis;
• EKG analysis;
• Accurate and complete documentation;
• Cleaning and stocking ofequipment and supplies as necessary;
• Participate in CAP and JCsurveys.
• RRTs may function as Shift Leader or serve in thecapacity of Team Leader
• Advanced practice skills may include:
• Therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2
• Pulmonary Function Testing;
• Bronchoscopy assist;
• HemodynamicMonitoring;
• Waveform analysis;
• Nocturnal SpO2 evaluation(Desaturation Studies);
• Polysomnography;
• Transport duties.

• See licensure and/or certificationrequirements Experience
• 1•3 years of experience preferredLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications•RT or RCP License instate of employment required•BLS required•RegisteredRespiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required
