The Therapy Team leader assists the Director of TherapyOperations in day-to-day operations of a therapy team ordiscipline. The position requires effective supervisory skillsalong with good communication skills for interdepartmentalrelationships, and competency in licensed discipline evaluation,assessment, care planning and treatment. The Therapy Team Leadermust delegate and supervise tasks of therapist assistants andtechnicians; assist with staffing, scheduling, orientation,training and communications to provide adequate coverage forpatient treatments; and maintain open and on-going communicationwith hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospitalneeds are met. This position typically provides patient care inlicensed discipline 80%

  • 90% of work hours.

The Therapy TeamLeader helps create an environment and culture that enables thehospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals,conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holding staffaccountable for performance, motivating staff to improveperformance, and being responsible for the operation of thedepartment, to include measurement, assessment, and continuousimprovement. The Team Leader helps staff improve their clinicalskills, and overall performance, through staff development andmentoring. Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License orCertification:
  • Current State license as a Physical Therapist,Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist.
  • BLS (CPR)required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire within thisrole.
  • If clinician is an SLP, successful completion of SLPCertification of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required.
MinimumQualifications:
  • A minimum of three year’s discipline-specific orleadership experience required, with no less than 2 years beingclinical.
  • Active on Therapy Clinical Ladder (when eligible) orspecialty professional certification, preferred.
Machines,Equipment Used:
  • General office equipment such as computer/laptop,telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.
  • MicrosoftOffice software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
PhysicalRequirements:
  • Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighinga minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment andthe transferring and repositioning of patients.

Reasonableassistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pullingare undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.

Skills andAbilities:
  • Oral communication, written communication, activelistening. Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Information ordering, deductive reasoning, social perceptiveness,time management, critical thinking.
  • Ability to coordinate,analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in adetail-oriented manner.
  • Ability to work independently withoutcontinuous supervision.
Environmental Conditions:
  • Indoor,temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoorexposure.
  • Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluidsmay be required.

  • May work understressful circumstances at times.
Proficiency or ProductivityStandards:
  • Has regular, reliable, and predictable attendance andpunctuality.
  • Adheres to dress code including wearing ID badge.
  • Adheres to Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Maintains currentlicensure and/or certifications, if applicable.
  • May be requiredto work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts ifneeded to meet deadlines.
  • May be required to work on religiousand/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
  • Will be requiredto work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e., before,during or after a disaster.
  • May be required to stay after workdayto assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives.
  • May berequired to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
