Job Summary andQualifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- PRN / PerDiem / As Needed The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivershigh-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance withthe nature and specific requirements of the department, andconsistent with the scope and standards of practice for therelevant state and specialty.
As a vital part of the patient careteam, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostictests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receivinginvasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. What you will doin this role:
- You will perform and document patient assessment,including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. Youwill conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, andresponse to, respiratory therapy.
- You will administer respiratorycare therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medicationdelivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- You will assist with placementof artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintainmechanical ventilation.
- You will monitor patient for therapeuticresponse. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate inthe event of an unintended response.
- You will assist withtransportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- You will respondto emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity andadequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- Whatqualifications you will need:
- Associate Degree in RespiratoryCare
- RRT•NBRC and State Registered Respiratory Therapist•BCLS•Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days ofemployment start date•ACLS•Advanced Cardiac Life Support mustbe obtained within 30 days of employment start date•PALS•Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days ofemployment start date•NRP•Neonate Resuscitate must be obtainedwithin 60 days of employment start date HCA Florida CapitalHospital is your one-stop solution for all your healthcare needs.
