He/she initiates and maintainsappropriate therapy, including life support technique andequipment.

Provides, preventable, supportive, and correctiveinterventions related to the cardio-pulmonary system in assignedpatient care areas in accordance with established hospital anddepartmental policies, procedures, and all applicable regulationsand standards. Applies the knowledge and skill necessary to provideappropriate interactions with staff, patients, and families of allages. Minimum competency in all applicable advanced clinical skillsmust be demonstrated and maintained. Actively participates inoutstanding customer service and accepts responsibility inmaintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Adheres to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rulesand regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agenciesand accrediting bodies. /n /n/n /n The value you’ll bring to theteam: /n /n/n /n Maintains professional and technical competencythrough constantly pursuing knowledge and selfimprovement byremaining apprised of current respiratory care management, andhealth care delivery trends and developments including awareness oflatest technology and practices to improve patient outcomes. /n /nResponds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPRaccording to the American Heart Association and performs otherduties as directed.

Performs airway maintenance including: properuse of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airwayinsertion, airway suctioning, intubation, extubation, assist withtracheostomy insertion, perform tracheostomy tube change, assistwith bronchoscopy, and procedural respiratory support. /n /nProperly utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chartreview, and conferring with multidisciplinary team to determineefficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner makingappropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.

Performs respiratory therapies and oxygen delivery therapies andmakes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method perprotocol. /n /n Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterialblood gases, and co-oximetry. Arterial line insertion. Performsquality controls as needed.

Setup and Performs oximetry, apnea, TCand ETCO2 monitoring as ordered by physician. /n /n Initiates,maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators toinclude conventional and nonconventional modes of ventilation perpolicy and procedure. Reviews chest radiological reports asnecessary per supervisor and policy and procedures. /n /n/n /n
