- Th•e community you’ll be caring for:•AdventHealth North Pinellas •The•role you’ll contribute:•Supervises all aspects of Respiratory Therapy in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, regulations, and guidelines to assure the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all times.
Along with their leader, is responsible for staffing and scheduling to provide adequate coverage for provision of care for all patients with pulmonary needs. Develops strong relationships with physicians and other referral sources. The Respiratory Team Lead ensures compliance with the established Florida Hospital pulmonary programs. Maintains open and on-going communications with their leader to ensure patient, staff, and facility needs are met. It is the Florida Hospital philosophy that ongoing clinical competence requires regular clinical practice and the respiratory team leader will take patient assignments as situations warrant, including assisting Physicians with
Bronchoscopies:
patient transports; monitoring of documentation. Appropriate activities include loading all department meetings, staff scheduling, and provision of direct patient care. Staff development and improvement of clinical skills for clinical team is also a priority of this position. The expectation for the Team Lead is to be an Ambassador to patients and families for better patient outcomes and satisfaction; monitoring of documentation and overseeing revenue cycle and charges, process improvement department program, department safety officer they will also maintain PFT levels and certification of ABG machine. The Team Lead will oversee the education process (BLS, Smoking Cessation,). Assist with new employee and yearly education competencies. This position is a full time day shift position, with occasional weekends required as clinical situation warrants.

- Rounds daily with physicians
- Receives feedback from staff on ways to improve department

- Assists with regular staff meetings
- Fosters a positive relationship with Respiratory Therapists, Medical Division
- Fosters excellent interdepartmental relationships and teamwork among departments
- Demonstrates effective communication skills with all team members, patients and families
- Meets with clinical staff on an on-going basis regarding feedback on technical and medical staff performance
- Conducts staff meetings
- Conducts educational sessions for staff, including yearly Respiratory Skills Fair
- Sets up orientation plan for each new RT employee
- Assesses patient treatment plan for opportunities to assure proper utilization
- Monitors charge accuracy daily thru I-Connect
- Completes accurate payroll and accurate staffing in required computer program. Completes payroll within required timeframe Qualifications
- The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy School
- National Board of Respiratory, graduate eligible
- Minimum of two (2) years management/team leader experience
- State of Florida BLS and
ACLS, PALS
