Respiratory Therapist This position is a NBRCcredentialed professional who provides respiratory care to patientsin alternate sites in accordance with AdaptHealth’s policies andprocedures. Respiratory care will be preventative, rehabilitative,and palliative in nature. The Respiratory Therapist will utilizeall the resources available within the agency and community toaccomplish care objectives.

Job Duties:

Consistently demonstratesability to adequately complete all documentation and chartingprocedures in compliance with ACHC and company policy andprocedures. Reviews Plan of Treatments and Care Plans to assurethey are accurate and up to date. Documents procedures includinghow the patient tolerated a procedure, side effects and otherpertinent information. Assists with authorization for CPAP/BiPAPreferrals for patients. Shows adequate knowledge of respiratoryequipment and displays ability to utilize knowledge in the clinicalsetting. Demonstrates ability to effectively troubleshoot equipmentin the field successfully. Maintains inventory control ofCPAP/BiPAP supplies for sleep center. Displays knowledge ofassessment skills and demonstrates application of clinical skillsduring set-ups, follow-ups, and in-services. Participates indischarge planning of highly technical cases. Performs clinicalassessments as needed and reports results and recommendations tothe referral and physician. Participates in highly technicaldischarges and prepares in advance to assure the patient andcaregivers have a smooth transition to the home setting. Performsin-services to hospital staff, referrals, other professionalsregarding equipment & issues of clinical nature. Follows up withphysician and referrals regarding patient status and documentsaccurately and in a timely manner. Retain knowledge of andconsistently adhere to procedures for the use of PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE), infection control and hazardousmaterials handling. Assume on-call responsibilities duringnon-business hours in accordance with company policy. Maintainpatient confidentiality and function within the guidelines ofHIPAA. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Competency, Skillsand Abilities:

Competent in PAP, Ventilator, Airway Clearance, andOxygen therapy administration and management Able to performclinical assessments and make recommendations to physicians.

Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance skills. Decision making,analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication Excellent customer serviceskills Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities andtasks. Computer skills including knowledge of

Microsoft Officeapplications Requirements:
Minimum Job Qualifications:

Associatesdegree from an AMA approved respiratory program. Valid andunrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by thebranch, or an Associate degree in Nursing, with a valid andunrestricted LPN or RN clinical license. Must be CPR certified, One(1) year of clinical experience as a Health Care RT, HME RT orclinical nursing with Vent experience.
