Wellstar Paulding Hospital in Hiram, Georgia isseeking a Full-time Lead Respiratory Therapist (

Shift:

Nights) TheLead Respiratory Therapist isresponsible for directing andoverseeing the daily activities of an assigned shift usingindependent judgment to assure successful and safe delivery ofcare. Facilitates onboarding and precepting under the guidance oftheir direct lead. Serves as a clinical resource/support to thestaff, physicians, patients, families, and other departments byproviding direct patient care, medication administration andensuring equipment resources and function. This role may requirethe duty of a patient assignment. Responsible for promotion andexecution of PI initiatives. May assist with data collection andanalysis of PI activities. Customer Service, and Safety and Qualityinitiatives for designated shift. Responsibilities CoreResponsibilites and Essential Functions

• Leadership andCollaboration 1.

Leads the shift a. Assures delivery of safepatient care by analyzing patients needs and skill competency levelof personnel when making patient assignments b. Facilitatesinterdisciplinary communication and planning to ensure timely caredelivery including discharge c. Communicates with direct leader anyneeds or concerns pertaining to patient care delivery or employeeperformance d. Assists in the evaluation of staff, providing inputto Supervisor regarding clinical performance, teamwork, etc. ofindividuals. e. Assigns shift workload and preceptors f. Maintainsfinancial stewardship in relation to productivity g. Maintainsdaily equipment function and calibration

Provides resources and support a. Monitors equipmentinventory, location and utilization to ensure staff have tools andequipment needed to perform their job b. Assists in acquiringappropriate staffing levels. c. Provides clinical assistance tostaff as necessary d. Assist with orientation & training for newemployees and student clinical rotations e. Assist with annualskill competencies f. Communicates educational needs of staff (i.e.huddles, new equipment or knowledge in-services for RT staffMaintains staff education records

Maintains current knowledge related to patient population todeliver the highest standard of care b. Identifies learning needsof workgroup and communicates needs to direct leader. c.

Rounds on patients to evaluatequality and appropriateness of patient care including correctiveaction when needed utilizing peer coaching and 200% accountabilityb. Participates in implementation and monitoring of PI, CustomerService, and Safety and Quality initiatives to improve patient caredelivery

• Qualifications RequiredMinimum Education
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapyeducation program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hoursof science. Required
• Associate’s Degree (Must have completed atleast 100 credit hours towards B.S degree) Required
• Bachelor’sDegree Preferred
• Required Minimum Experience
• Current advancecredential with a minimum of two (2) years’ clinical experience towork in all critical care areas but not limited to Adult ICU,CVICU, BURN, NICU, Emergency Departments (Adult and Pediatric) asit relates each facility Required
