Wellstar PauldingHospital in Hiram, GA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Full Time

  • Night Shift 6pm-7am Weekend Option Work Days Various) SignificantSign-On Bonus and Relocation assistance offered for qualified,experienced Respiratory Therapist The Respiratory Therapist II isresponsible for medication administration and implementingrespiratory care based on expanded knowledge, experience, and theevaluate-and-treat process.

The RT II is responsible for deliveringpatient care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations.

The majority of time is in critical care areas with protocolventilator management, significant independent decision-making andself direction. In addition, to patient care delivery, the RT II isresponsible for patient, family/support system education,coordination of activities, staff development, and professional andself-developmental activities. The RT II is responsible forproviding patient care with an understanding and awareness ofpopulation specific needs. The RT II addresses the biological,emotional, and developmental, psychosocial, and patient/familyeducation needs when providing care to the patient. Alsoparticipates in the education of new employees and others.

Responsibilities Core Responsibilites and Essential Functions

  • Provides Customer Service
  • Completion of patient care,documentation and education
  • Team approach to service
  • Promotes ateam spirit and positive work environment
  • Provides supportiveenvironment for students and staff
  • Administers Quality PatientCare
  • Performs patient assessment & assessment for therapy
  • Collaborates with health care team members in planning patient care
  • Verifies orders and administers aerosolized medication, bronchialhygiene, volume expansion, oxygen & medical gas therapy
  • Performsventilator management, weaning, wave form graphic interpretation;airway management (intubation, extubation, trach tube change andcare)
  • Performs arterial blood gas sampling & analysis
  • Educatespatient and mentors/precepts new employees, students and peers
  • Location Specific:

    Assisting in invasive and non-invasiveprocedures, Cardiac Service procedures, Pulmonary DiagnosticTesting

  • Provides Safe & Quality Environment
  • Promotes currentand accurate electronic orders, charting and charging
  • Promoteshigh level of patient safety (Medication Safety, NPSG, etc)
  • Promotes Performance Improvement initiatives designed to promotequality care
  • Promotes evidence based practice
  • Reviews therevised and new DPPs
  • Required for All Jobs
  • Performs otherduties as assigned
  • Complies with all WellStar Health Systempolicies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
  • -Qualifications Required Minimum Education
  • Graduate of anaccredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP)with minimally 20 quarter hours of science. Required
  • Associate’sDegree A.S. degree required Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Required Minimum Experience
  • 0-2 yrs clinical experience withminimal 6-months critical care Required
  • Required Minimum Skills
  • Ability to communicate well, critical thinking skills, establishand maintain working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and computer skills including familiarity withdatabases.
  • Good customer relation, assessment, and communicationskills are a must for this job.
