Overview:
The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Specialist isresponsible for personally providing care to patients that haveacute critical conditions and cardiac and pulmonary disease.
Working under some supervision, this role operates variousequipment related to respiratory care, performs testing, andadvocates for patients’ needs. Working under direct supervision,this role carries out treatment plans designed by a licensedRespiratory Therapist.
Responsibilities:
Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG’s to informthe development of treatment plans.
Assists with the monitoring ofinvasive and non-invasive ventilators to track and improve thepatient’s recovery.
Advocates for patients’ needs internally todeliver the most appropriate care.
Verifies using establishedprotocol that equipment is functioning properly so that treatmentplans can be carried out.
Documents care and outcomes as required byregulatory agencies and organizational procedures to maintainpatient records and suggest improvements in care.
Supports theadministration of more advanced therapies, such as bronchoscopies,to treat more complex cases.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Required:
Graduate of a 2-year school forRespiratory Therapy
EXPERIENCE
Required:
1 year of clinicalexperience in Respiratory Care at ConeHealth
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING
Required:
Registeredby the National Board for Respiratory Care as a RRT; Licensed bythe North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a CRT or RRT; BLS(CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; ACLS-AmericanRed Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. Pediatric Advanced LifeSupport (PALS)Obtain RRT within 6 months of employment
