Required Qualifications:
One year of recent experience as a Registered RespiratoryTherapist Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from theNBRC Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with stateregulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC) Other certifications and licenses may be required for thisposition
Summary:
A Registered Respiratory Therapist providesadvanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonarydisorders and critical illnesses. They independently assess, treat,and manage patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions,including those in intensive care units and emergency situations.
RRTs work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams todeliver life-saving therapies and patient-centered care.
EssentialWork Functions:
Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatmentplans Examine and interview patients with breathing and/orcardiopulmonary disorders Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity orcollecting blood/sputum samples Treat patients through various methods including chestphysiotherapy and aerosol medications Set up and monitor equipment to ensure the patient is receivingthe correct amount of oxygen at the correct rate Observe and record patient status and progress Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensureappropriate patient care Educate patients and/or family members on how to properly takemedication and use equipment Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of
RRTpractice Required Essential Skills:
