Who WeAre:
In our Respiratory Therapy department, we are committed totransforming lives through personalized care, cutting-edgetechniques, and a patient-centered approach. Our state-of-the-artfacility is equipped with the latest technology and resources toempower our technologists to provide the best care possible. TheRespiratory Therapy Unit consist of 29 employees that provide 24/7coverage to a patient population that ranges from Adult, Pediatric,and Infant. The unit is home to a Level 3 Neonatal team. Shifts aregenerally 12 hours. About the
Job:
Provides a wide range ofrespiratory care services to patients, ranging from infants togeriatric age groups, as directed by physician’s orders in allsettings. This individual works independently as a licensedclinician.
What You’ll Do:
- Manages aerosolized medication, chestphysiotherapy, airway clearance techniques, and hyperinflationtherapy upon physician orders/protocols.
- Administers oxygen andparticipates in patient care decisions regarding oxygenadministration, utilizing respiratory assessment skills and labresults. Draws, analyzes, and interprets arterial blood gases.
- Contributes to patient education and evaluation. Assesses patient’svital signs, breath sounds, patient history, etc.
- Participates asa member of the Trauma/Code 9, Critical Assessment and CriticalCare Transport Teams.
- Performs CPR and airway management
- Assists physician with fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
- Initiates andchanges invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation accordingto protocol in physician’s absence. Change’s ventilator settingaccording to protocol and/or physician order.
- Conducts apneatests for determination of brain death.
Who You Are:
- Minimum ofAssociates Degree required and passed CRT or RRT exam.
- State ofNew Hampshire Respiratory Care practitioner license required atdate of hire.
- BLS certification required within 90 days from dateof hire.
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
- Registered Respiratory Therapy credential preferred. NBRC RRT-ACCScredential preferred.
- One-year clinical experience preferred.
Trained and competent to perform all necessary procedures on apopulation of Newborn, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatricpatients.
