Mgr, Respiratory Care Services & Patient Transport 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 100 PARK STREET, Glens Falls, NY 12801 The Impact You Can Make Team Impact This position is accountable for managing the clinical and management responsibilities of respiratory care, staff and work flow processes for Respiratory Care Services (RCS) and Patient Transport. RCS includes the Pulmonary Testing Lab, Arterial Blood Gas Lab and Respiratory. A key role of this position is the managerial oversight to assure effective implementation of care and process changes that positively impact the respiratory care provided to our patients. This role also includes, but is not limited to, department communications; department human resource management; general operations workflow coordination; coordination of orientation, training and staff development; policy and procedure development and implementation. The activities of this individual must facilitate the integration of systematic change that positively impacts the provision of respiratory care, quality and customer services by the department in a fiscally sound manner. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Responsibilities Provide leadership and direct supervision of the provision of respiratory services by (RCS) and Patient Transport. Responsible for personnel, equipment and supply resource allocation and planning. Oversees and closely coordinates daily RCS to maximize quality and attain superior customer service. Oversee daily department communication and coordination of shifts and personnel. Oversee staffing and scheduling of clinical and clerical staff within both departments. Facilitates discussion forums with staff members or teams to allow input and programmatic changes, problem resolution, communication of information, and reinforcement of departmental and organizational goals to create a desirable work environment and ensure staff participation. Provides planning, input for program development, and budget forecasting for quality care and superior customer service. Oversees department implementation of change when regulation, practice or continuous improvement initiatives demand systematic work/care process changes. Responsible for resource and budget management, reporting activity to the Director. Evaluates the performance and competency of clinical and clerical staff. Participates in the hiring processes of staff. Education/Accredited Programs Bachelors Degree in Respiratory or related field of study required, masters degree preferred. 5 years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital. 3 years supervisory or management experience in Respiratory Care. Clinical experience and theoretical /technical competence in all aspects of respiratory care. Licenses/Certifications/Registrations Licensed Respiratory Therapist in accordance with New York State Education Law. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certification with re-certification every 2 years. Certified instructor for BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP with recertification every 2 years. Certified in adult endotracheal intubations. Certified Asthma Educator preferred. Skills/Abilities Demonstrate knowledge and ability to apply current leadership and continuous improvement principles Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and formulate solutions, working with complex variables. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents or information that may be complex Ability to communication effectively, verbally and in writing, on sensitive and complex topics, to staff and organizational leaders. Ability to work with hospital and department information systems including the computerized medical record and payroll system. Ability to remain calm and work effectively during emergency or stressful situations. Ability to lead and facilitate groups to achieve positive outcomes. Ability to problem solve independently Understanding of technology and its application to GFH Strong interpersonal skills Conflict resolution skills, ability to deal with diverse educational, cultural, spiritual and socioeconomic backgrounds. Exhibits a personal commitment to the Glens Falls Hospital customer service standards and code of conduct. Ability to work with patients of all ages, from infant to the elderly, following established department policy and procedures. Ability to interpret and apply established national standards, especially the Joint Commission, College of American Pathologists and the NYS Department of Health, to maintain accreditation in areas of accountability. Salary Range The expected salary range for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $95,000 to $142,500 annually. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
