Overview:

Performsdirect patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, accordingto physician’s orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness oftherapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians andnursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Graduate of CoArc approved RespiratoryCare program.

• Licensure:

  Meets state licensure requirements andhas a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.

• Certifications:

  Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care(NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS isrequired.

• Other:

  Physical demands are attached plus push, pull,and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch,and crawl minimally.

• Equipment Used:

  All appropriate respiratorycare devices.

• Preferred Education:

  Acute Cardiac Life Support(ACLS)
