Summary ofRole:
The Respiratory Therapist plays an integral role in thesuccess of our team, our community and creating a place ourresidents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of thisposition is to administer medically prescribed programs andtreatments to restore function and prevent disability followingdisease, injury, or impairment with focus on providing anddocumenting basic Respiratory Therapy procedures in the SNFsetting. Utilizes training and clinical skills to assess patientsand participates in the development of an interdisciplinaryrehabilitation plan of care, where applicable. Under the dailydirection of the Director of Nursing, coordinates and maintains aschedule which involves approximately 75% direct patient careactivities.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, AndResponsibilities:
Therapy Functions:
Administers specifiedcomponents of therapy programs for patients in accordance withstate practice acts, through the use of accepted treatment methodsas described by recognized standards of practice, company policiesand its agents, and applicable reimbursement guidelines forrehabilitation, as prescribed by physicians, to rehabilitate aperson to his/her maximum functional ability. Utilizes systemestablished by the company for scheduling treatments, maintainingand communicating work schedules, preparing work assignments,maintaining and reporting productivity, and performing clinicalsupervision for support staff. Performs work in an efficient mannerto meet productivity standards and to display equity of duties,patient care and other tasks, among members of the staff. Displaysbehaviors which promote customer satisfaction and promotes positivework relationships with members of the staff and staff fromfacilities where services are provided. Performs assessments andtreatments, observing all policies for timeliness, and utilizesspecific procedures, forms, and format for documentation andcommunication of information. Documents appropriate clinicalinformation in an organized and legible manner, according tocompany policy and with demonstrated knowledge of applicablereimbursement guidelines. Promotes a safe work culture through theuse of safe work practices including automobile use and proper bodymechanics. Represents safe work practices to coworkers to makesafety awareness a requirement for each employee’s satisfactory jobperformance.
Education and Experience:
Previous Respiratoryexperience either in long term care or hospital setting. Preferred6 months – 1 year experience.
Licensing/Certifications:
License inRespiratory therapy required, either CRT or RRT in this state
