Job Summary and Qualifications The Respiratory Therapistcoordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratorycare in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of thedepartment, and consistent with the scope and standards of practicefor the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of thepatient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety ofdiagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patientsreceiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. What youwill do in this role:

• You will perform and document patientassessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuffpressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate theneed for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
• You willadminister respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery,aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• You willassist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate,monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• You will monitorpatient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider andintervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
• You will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependentpatients.
• You will respond to emergent patient situations andensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation duringresuscitation as required.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months ofemployment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within60 months of employment start date
• State Registered RespiratoryTherapist
• Associate Degree
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR
• RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP), or CertifiedRespiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) must be obtained within 30days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, orPed Emrg Assmt Recog Sta must be obtained within 60 months ofemployment start date TriStar Summit is a 230 bed comprehensivefacility.
