Job Summary andQualifications The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivershigh-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance withthe nature and specific requirements of the department, andconsistent with the scope and standards of practice for therelevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient careteam, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostictests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receivinginvasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. What you will doin this role:

• You will perform and document patient assessment,including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. Youwill conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, andresponse to, respiratory therapy.
• You will administer respiratorycare therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medicationdelivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• You will assist with placementof artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintainmechanical ventilation.
• You will monitor patient for therapeuticresponse. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate inthe event of an unintended response.
• You will assist withtransportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• You will respondto emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity andadequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

Whatqualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accreditedRespiratory Care Program
• TN RRT license with ABG endorsementrequired.
• BLS health care provider within 30 days
• ACLS requiredwithin 6 months of hire
• 1 year experience highly preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days ofemployment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within90 days of employment start date
• STABLE must be obtained within 6months of employment start date
• Associate Degree
• 1 yearexperience highly preferred
• TN RRT license with ABG endorsementrequired.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist, or LicensedRespiratory Therapist, or RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT /RCP) Parkridge East Hospital is a 120 bed facility in East Ridge.

We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. Theseservices include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of ChestPain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility alsooffers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. Wealso hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specializedproviders in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses andrespiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times.
