Position Overview:
As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist at ourhealthcare team, you will play a crucial role in providingspecialized care to pediatric patients with respiratory disorders.
You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcareteam to assess, treat, and monitor pediatric patients, ensuringthey receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment:
Conduct thorough assessments of pediatricpatients with respiratory conditions to determine their specificneeds and treatment plans.
Treatment Planning:
Develop andimplement individualized respiratory care plans for pediatricpatients, considering their age, condition, and uniquerequirements.
Ventilation Support:
Administer and monitormechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and otherrespiratory therapies as needed for pediatric patients.
MedicationAdministration:
Administer medications, aerosolized treatments, andinhalation therapies to pediatric patients, ensuring proper dosagesand monitoring for adverse reactions.
Patient Education:
Educatepediatric patients and their families on respiratory conditions,treatment options, and self-care techniques.
Monitoring andEvaluation:
Continuously monitor pediatric patients’ progress,adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all relevantinformation in medical records.
Emergency Response:
Be prepared torespond swiftly to respiratory emergencies involving pediatricpatients, providing life-saving interventions and support.
Equipment Management:
Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment,ensuring it is in proper working order for pediatric patients.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with pediatric physicians,nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinatedand comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
Compliance:
Adhereto all relevant healthcare regulations, guidelines, and protocolswhile providing care to pediatric patients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from anaccredited program. Current state licensure as a RespiratoryTherapist. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certificationpreferred. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassion andpatience in working with pediatric patients and their families.
